Perspectives: Human vs Ant

 My Perspective

I was walking home from elementary school on a cold winter day. There were snow piles everywhere, all up and down the sidewalk and I couldn't resist but playing in them along the way. I was bundled up in my many coat layers and wearing heavy snow pants, so I did not feel cold whatsoever. I eventually collected my belongings that were placed on the ground next to me and began walking once again, trying hard not to get distracted anymore by the winter wonderland around me. Within a few minutes of me walking, I noticed a singular bright red ant on top of a huge snow pile. To my curiosity, I ran over to get a better view of it. I couldn't believe that an ant had survived this weather and felt bad for it because it was all alone. “Where is your ant hill?” I said to the ant, as if I was expecting a response back. I then spotted a few leaves that were seemingly untouched by the snow. Although I didn't particularly like bugs, I picked up the ant with my glove and carried him all the way over to those leaves. “You're welcome!” I said as if he could understand me. The rest of my way home was spent wondering what ever happened to that ant and hoping that he was eventually reunited with his ant hill.

The Ants Perspective

All I could remember was walking back to my ant hill during the snowstorm but when the snow had stopped, I was lost. My ant hill was completely buried by the snow and I didnt know what to do. There was thick snow all around and no possible way that a little ant like me would be able to dig through it to get back home in time. I was scared. I didn't want to freeze out in this weather like so much of the colony already had. Out of the corner of my eye, I had spotted a girl. I thought that if I could somehow get her attention that she could maybe help me, but then I realized how small I am compared to her and doubted that it would even work. She was clearly distracted jumping around in the snow piles, but I decided not to give up. I took the food I was carrying and waved it up in the air hoping she would notice. With what seemed to be a miracle, she did. I got nervous as I saw her running towards me, since I never know which people just want to step on me. She said something in her human language which I couldn't comprehend but then gracefully kneeled down to pick me up. She carried me over to some perfectly good leaves, which happened to be almost exactly where my colony was located. She then took off on her journey and I never saw her again. I tried to wave bye but I knew she wouldn't notice. It’s the thought that counts. I have always wondered what happened to her.
