“When everybody is running away from the danger, we run towards it.”

This podcast was about a man who always felt like he had to help people During the pandemic he especially took it upon himself to try and help everyone in his community. He was serving at the epicenter of the pandemic (New York), providing lots of aid to those in need. I found this really inspirational because they even talked to his daughter about how she felt about her dad having a dangerous job. It really made me emotional when she said something along the lines of that she feels safe, like he is always going to be there for her. He risks himself for others, so she always knows that no matter what she does he will be there for her. While I don’t have this good of a connection with my dad, I feel that way about my mom. I felt really connected to this part about having a protective parent. There was also a part that talked about people applauding the first responders and there was a disabled veteran saluting him for the work he had done. Dan said it was a “sight that will never leave me” I can just picture all these people gathered together in the streets applauding and supporting the first responders.
