Snow descriptions and mini paragraph
Descriptive words:
Delicate, broken easily, confetti, fragile, wet droplets, stick figure people, white, silent, little explosions
Descriptive paragraph:
I looked down as the puffy collections of snow exploded into smaller fragments on my jacket upon impact. The little bombs fell at an alarming rate, sticking to my hair, jacket, fingers, and eyelashes. Although their impact on my person was great, soaking me to the bone, the street cars swept away the little droplets with ease. Cars rode silently over them, packing more and more explosions onto the pavement. One couldn't see exactly how many little droplets fell in the open air, but the lights of the street lamps showcased the little white confetti like a spotlight. There were no clouds in the sky; it was only white.
Thoughts on trees:
One thing that really stuck with me from the documentary was when they talked about how family generations will pass down passions for trees. For example, if your father took great care of a tree then it would be your responsibility to then care for the tree. If you denied this responsibility then you dishonored your father. I thought this really gave meaning to caring for trees; that this passion persists in life and death.
P.s. my picture is from Stowe, VT where I recently learned to ski. :)

"the street cars swept away the little droplets with ease" I love everything about this sentence! love how you take the mundane of snowfall and turn it into something fascinating with beautiful language!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on learning to ski!
