Girl Wash Your Face

When I was younger I used to read books every single day, it was my favorite thing to do. As I got older reading for joy became very hard. Although I do not read as much as I would like to, the most recent nonfiction book I read is called Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. This light hearted self help book was my go-to summer read that instilled positive tools into my life that I use on a daily. A lot of self help books are packed with good information, but when the book is closed none of what I learn  I never remember. Its too long, too hard to remember, and just goes in one year and out the other. The reason I like this book in particular was that the tools she gives in the book are so easy and so impressionable I found myself actually relating to them in such a way that I was able to actually use them even months after reading the book. It gave me so many tools and helped my outlook on my life to become more positive. She used her own personal life stories to relate to the reader and it was very effective...and funny!

"Whatever standard you've set for yourself is where you'll end up...unless you fight through your instinct and change your pattern. That's how I changed my own patterns and behaviors- how I established the rule in my life that I would no longer break a promise to myself no matter how small it was. It all began with Diet Coke."
