Paragraph

When I look up to you - the floating snow - my sense of time quickly dissolves. I am staring at you with child-like wonder; I hope I am not making you uncomfortable. It just happens that time spent with you brings me back to my childhood... you bring me memories of snow day snowball fights with my brother, sledding at my top-secret sledding hill, hot chocolate and movie days spent enjoying your beauty from the indoors (and next to my fireplace). You brighten and comfort  a dreary time of year and your magical silence floods my thoughts with endless untroubled memories. I just wanted to thank you for all that you do and the reminiscing moments you bring me.

On Trees

I loved Hesse's writing about trees. The details, comparisons and personifications were easy to relate and connect to as a reader. I loved the line, "Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth. They do not preach learning and precepts, they preach, undeterred by particulars, the ancient law of life." Hesse speaks about trees - something so common in our everyday lives - in a new and refreshing way.

My favorite was watching Treeline, it was very relaxing and informative. I enjoyed that we learned about the trees from different people, in different countries. As a journalism major, I loved the interview aspect and getting different opinions from others.
